Rabbi Shmuel and Rochel Shanowitz arrived in Buffalo to lead the school when it was founded in 1994.  He took on the role of principal and primary teacher and Rochel would teach and eventually run the school’s administration. In the school's first 1994-95 school year, there were 12 students.  A lot has changed over the years including the expansion  of our dedicated, experienced faculty and staff. Enrollment has grown to more than 100 children.  Our graduates have gone on to build Jewish families and homes as well as become pillars of the Western New York  Jewish community and Jewish communities around the nation.
